Short Term Missions
Short-term Workers - Long-term Impact!
International Work Projects
Alliance work teams serve around the world, combining faith and works; showing the love of Jesus not only through their prayer and spiritual impact but also through hard work and productive effort.

At Foothills Alliance Church we recognize the importance of Short-term Missions trips (STM) to personally connect with our workers in the field, and provide valuable opportunities to:
- Serve our International workers and their churches overseas
- Receive a life-changing experience in a cross-cultural setting.
- Testify to these experiences and expand the awareness of missions within our
church.
- Encourage and inspire our young people to pursue a career as an International Worker.
To that end we plan to send a team to the mission field at least every two years. In 2006 a team went to Cambodia to work with Marie Ens at her “Place of Rescue,” a facility that ministers to aids victims and the many orphans that are left behind.
In 2007, our youth team went to Costa Rica to work with the Cookes at “Casa Luz,” a facility that ministers to victims of abuse and sexual exploitation.
In 2010, a team went to Cambodia. For the majority of time they worked at an English Camp which is an outreach ministry of the Cambodian Alliance Church. They also visited and ministered at Place of Rescue orphanages under the direction of Marie Ens.
In 2010 and 2011 a team of Young Adults went to Tactic, Guatemala (http://foothillsinguatemala.wordpress.com) to work alongside of Impact Ministries (http://www.impactministries.ca), a ministry that works with the Kekchi and Poqomchí people groups of Tactic and surrounding areas. In the rural areas around Tactic, more than 80 percent of the people are illiterate and this debilitates and isolates them from the ‘outside’ world. Impact Ministries’ primary goal is to open up the Word of God to these precious people through Christian School Education. Impact Ministries is committed to loving, serving and discipling the people of Tactic.
In 2011 a team of 17 youth and 6 leaders went to serve the people of Vancouver, BC. Youth and leaders served at many different organizations for the homeless and as well some served in a seniors home. Check out our blogposts at http://foothillsinvancouver.wordpress.com.
