Home Church: Foothills Alliance Church, Calgary
Kurt, a missionary kid, grew up in Colombia, South America where his parents, Dave and Arlene Peters, served with the Christian & Missionary Alliance. He received is schooling at the Alliance Academy in Quito, Ecuador and then went on to Toccoa Falls College, Georgia, where he received a BA in Missiology.
Kim grew up in a Christian family who attended Foothills Alliance Church. At the age of 4 she received her call to missions.
Kurt and Kim met at Foothills Alliance and were married in 1995. That same year, they moved to Chatham ON where Kurt served as youth pastor for 2 years. In 1997, Kurt and Kim moved to Toronto to begin planting a Hispanic Alliance Church in Toronto. While in Toronto Kim enrolled as a full time student at Tyndale College while Kurt studied part time at Tyndale Seminary in a master’s degree program.
In 1999 Kurt and Kim moved to Costa Rica for language study and then went to Mexico City in the summer of 2000 to begin their ministry of church planting among the middle class there.
From there they moved to Tijuana for two years, where Kurt received his Masters in Global Leadership from Fuller and both were enrolled at the Leadership Institute in California. During that time they also began a project called Permanecer (Abide) which is designed to minister to leaders and pastors in Mexico.
We will not be back in Mexico as International Workers, but rather we will be stationed in Spain.
