Foothills Elders

Larry Fournier

Larry Fournier and his wife Yvonne have been attending Foothills since 1989. They have both served in many ministries within the church. Larry has especially enjoyed serving for the past seven years within the junior high ministry. Yvonne and Larry have two children, Joel and Hannah, both of whom serve with the Children’s Ministry. Larry was the Project Manager during the construction of the new FAC Family Centre. Although Larry grew up in a loving and caring home, he did not grow up knowing Jesus Christ. Larry found and committed his life to the Lord at age 19 through a Christian youth group.

Joanne Giesbrecht

Joanne Giesbrecht was born and raised in the Maritimes. She is married to Syd and has two children, Chris and Kim, plus five grandchildren. Joanne gave her life to Jesus as a 12 year old and rededicated her life through immersion baptism in her twenties. In the summer of 1989 Syd and Joanne started to attend Foothills. Joanne has a Bachelor of Education degree and taught with the Calgary Board of Education for 14 years. She also worked on staff at FAC in Children’s Ministries before going to Airdrie Alliance to become their children’s pastor for three years. Joanne is a professional artist and has her work in collections around the world.

Ric Gilbertson

Ric Gilbertson and his wife, Ruth-Anne, have been part of the Foothills family since 1996. They have two adult children: Derrick, along with his soon to be wife, Rebecca, reside in Calgary and are recent graduates of Ambrose University. Karissa is currently a student at Ambrose.

In 1992, the Gilbertsons left to serve as International Workers in Venezuela. They served in various capacities there until 2004 when they were appointed as Regional Developers for the C&MA in Latin America. Currently Ric is the Director for Candidate Mobilization and Development for Global Ministries, the C&MA in Canada. Part of his job involves teaching at Ambrose University.
Ric loves enjoying the outdoors in and around Calgary.

Daryl Ginter

Daryl and her husband, Lorne, have been attending Foothills for nearly 24 years. They have two adult children: Sheldon and Hilary. Daryl was born in Ontario and has spent enough time on the Saskatchewan prairies to consider herself a “farm girl.” Part of the “farm” still sticks—she regularly visits her cousin’s Strathmore farm to ride her favourite horse.

Daryl’s areas of ministries over the years have been quite varied: serving in the nursery, teaching children, leading small groups and helping on numerous committees. However, Daryl is passionate about Women’s Ministries and currently serves as the facilitator for Evening NEWS and on the Women’s Ministry Leadership Team. She loves to help people grow in their knowledge of God, discover their gifts and passions and then see their ministries uniquely released.

Daryl treasured staying at home to raise her children and enjoyed working at Samaritans’ Purse for many years. But, somehow, Daryl always ends up back in school! She has had the privilege of earning a Bachelor of the Arts in Religion from Rocky Mountain College and more recently, a Masters in the Arts of Leadership and Ministry from Ambrose University College. Daryl is also an accredited Alliance worker.

Daryl’s life verse: “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:2

Jonathan Greb

Jonathan Greb and his wife, Julie, have three children: Natalie, Emma and Madeline. Together they have been a part of Foothills since the spring of 2005. During his time at Foothills, Jonathan has taught in the Summit Series and is currently serving our church as a Care Group leader and member of the Finance Committee.

Jonathan grew up as a “pastor’s kid.” He became a Christian at a young age and was baptized as an early teen.

Jonathan is a Chartered Accountant working in the oil industry. His interests and hobbies include golf, basketball and spending time with his family.

Dave Ingram

Dave Ingram and his wife Cyndy have attended Foothills since 2005. They have 3 boys, Jordan, Mark and Brent. Dave grew up in Chicago and first came to Canada to attend Canadian Bible College. They moved to Calgary from West Africa where they had been Alliance missionaries since 1995. Dave served as Missionary in Residence at Ambrose College and Seminary for 3 years. He currently works at Samaritan's Purse Canada, where he has been the Africa Projects Manager since 2007.

Gord Miller

Gord Miller and his wife Janice moved to Calgary from New Brunswick in 1985. They joined Foothills Alliance in the fall of that year and have been actively involved ever since. Gord and Janice have three children, Katelyn, Kyle and Eric. Through the years, Gord and his family have been involved in choirs, worship teams and dramas. Gord has also served as an Elder, and with life groups, youth, and various couples groups. Gord strongly believes that through deepening our Christian faith together, we sharpen each other as iron sharpens iron. This belief continues to drive his passion in discipling others and developing their God-given talents. Gord is an exploration manager in the oil and gas industry and leads efforts for career development. He enjoys reading, walking, snowshoeing, photography and creating videos.

Lawrence Stalder

Lawrence Stalder and his wife Joy started attending Foothills in 1991. They were married at Foothills and have been blessed by the Foothills Family who has helped them raise two children Paul and Natalie.  Lawrence has served at Foothills as an Elder, Treasurer, and in many other ministries. Lawrence is an advocate of mentoring future leaders and mentors to further Christ’s kingdom.

Lawrence is an IT Manager at Talisman Energy responsible for Enterprise Architecture. His interests include research; anything electronic, squash, and hiking.

Leighton Storsley

Leighton Storsley and his wife Jamie have attended Foothills Alliance since moving to Calgary in 2009. They have two children; Everett and Elianna and have lived in Alberta for ten years after both growing up in Manitoba. Leighton’s involvement in Foothills has included various roles in worship, serving on the finance committee and helping out at Inn from the Cold. Leighton is a graduate of the University of Manitoba with a Degree in Commerce (Finance) and has spent ten years at Shell, most recently working as a Procurement Manager. He has also served on various church and non-profit boards in the past. His hobbies include music, jogging, gardening, hunting and fishing.

Greg and his wife Karen and family, Kennedy (9), Carson (4) and Cassidy (3) have been back in Calgary since 2004, having spent a few years away for work. Greg has been involved as a Care Group leader and helping to build sets for productions at the church.
